I need to identify the code for the transmission in my car. Above is the information I have on the car since I bought it used and there isn't a lot of information. I believe the car was made in the United States as opposed to overseas and I want to have the specific code should I ever need parts. I have looked at the tags in the door pillars and didn't see anything helpful. Is the transmission code embedded in the VIN? Is there another way I can get the code? Thanks.

Yes as others mentioned should be the A140e if it's the automatic. You can search up pictures of the transmission on eBay as well.

Here's the pan gasket and strainer on rockauto (look at the A140e ones), you can take a look at your pan too.

If it’s an automatic, it’s the A140E. If it’s a manual transmission, it’s the S51.

For Roober, who needed help ID’ing his transmission. The other answers in this thread didn’t help him, as his door has been replaced.
