There are some great YouTube videos showing both of these vehicles. I was really sold on the new Sequoia but the GH has thrown a wrench into my thinking for sure. I just need to decide how important the 3rd seat/storage and tow capabilities are. 5000lb vs. 9250lbs.
Everything I've seen about the GH though has been incredible. I know I love my 2021 Highlander XLE, but hat the back seat.

The GHL will has more room than the Sequoia so I can imagine that this will be on more folks' shopping lists and a real competitor to the Telly/Palisade

Real competitor to the Telly / Palisade (which only sold COMBINED 46,792 (19602 + 27190) while the HL sold 222.805. So while they sell plenty of the other 2, they aren't competition for HL in total sales … if the numbers don't lie

For me it's more about the space AND MPG. I Love the looks of the new Sequoia, and if not for my wife, would likely have purchased one by now. Glad I waited, because while it's not as pretty, but still damn nice looking IMO, the MPG's will likely to twice that of the Sequoia and that in it of itself, is reason to get the GHL. We / I put on 30,000 to 40,000 a years, so MPG is pretty important. So now which model (leaning towards Hybrid), Platinum but pricing will have something to do with the final decision. Then after pricing it will be color options, and IF it gets good reviews as far as Quiet, Comfortable … Then my own test drive, and that's it

I really think Toyota hit a sweet spot with the GH. You get a ton of passenger space, but it’s not quite as unwieldy as a full-size, body on frame SUV like a Sequoia. We needed something a little bigger than the MDX since our kids are getting bigger, and the GH was a great choice. We were cross shopping it against a Palisade, but in the end the hybrid max powertrain is what sold it for us. The Palisade seemed a bit more luxurious and was maybe a LITTLE more comfortable, but I think long term reliability from a Toyota will outclass the Hyundai.
