From reading about adding the OEM fog lights from Japan, it seems like the removal of the front bumper is a pretty involved pain, hopefully you won't need to do that. I haven't looked into it but just guessing, you may be able to drop the plastic shields just behind the bumper and work your arms in there to un-clip / un-screw the factory sensor and install the new one. I don't think you'll find much info on it beyond that being that this is a new and non enthusiast vehicle. I wish you luck.

 

A little off topic, but you don't need to remove the front bumper to install OEM fog lights. The mounts can be accessed from below. There is a cover below the bumper that needs to come off, but it's not hard to remove.

 

Why not let your Comprehensive insurance pay for it and let your dealer worry about it.
I would think this would be handled like a rock ding to a windshield.

 

I'm an admitted tech nerd and car buff so I love all the tech features on new cars but this is an example of the drawbacks. There are so many sensors on the exterior of cars that a simple low speed bump into something can cost several thousand dollars in repairs. Ultrasonic sensors, cameras, radars etc are all vulnerable to minor impacts and expensive to replace.

 

Which sensor exactly? One of the corner sensors or one in the front grill?
