Hello ladies and gents,

In my quest for total LED conquest I've stumbled into my next obstacle, the amber side mirror signal lights introduced in the '13 Venzas.

While waiting for the rest of the lights to come I figure I crack this thing open since it seems like a quick mod. I WAS WRONG. Long story short the side markers are SEALED UNITS with the bulb enclosed, and cannot be pulled out to change.

I took some pictures of the process but have no way of hosting and posting it up here. If this information is needed here then I'll find some way to host the images, and write a little "How To" segment up.

I have a 2013 on order. One of the things I don't like about it are the side mirror signal lights. I'd like to change over to Muth signal mirrors like I have on my Camry but Muth doesn't make them for the Venza. I especially don't like that dorky blind spot mirror Toyota added. I guess I will have to do some investigating to find out if there is a similar fit on another model of Toyota.

^ They are not available for the Venza. As far as plug and play, I had mine installed by a body shop so I really don't know if it's just plug & play. At the time I bought the mirrors they were $162 for the pair from a discounter. The installation was $100. Like I said; I need to do some investigating. If I find anything out I will post the result. Thanks for the interest.

The Muth mirrors sound like a pretty cool concept. They would work especially well with the '12 and below vehicles. Having them in conjunction with the side markers 2 inches away seems kind of tacky. Like you're trying to over-do safety, but end up looking rice.

As for the factory side markers, what I know is that currently, there is no aftermarket solutions, nothing with an LED built in, or a receptacle you can twist off and replace with another bulb. Sounds like a project I might take on.

The thing I like about the Muth mirrors is the fact that they are highly visible to drivers behind and in your blind spot. The bubble on the outside of the new mirrors is Ricey looking to me. If and when the Muth mirrors do become available I will purchase them and get mirror housings from an earlier model Venza if possible. (Without the bubble) One can only hope. Since installation of the Muth mirrors on my Camry back in 2007 I've been approached by many Camry owners wanting to know if it was a factory option they were unaware of. Mine flash amber not red like a lot of other vehicles with signal mirror glass.
